Cubase Elements requires a different process for routing InstaComposer than Cubase Pro. You can find Cubase Pro instructions here.
Cubase elements does not have assignable track-to-track routing (direct routing). As a workaround, you can:
- Add an instrument track and choose InstaComposer 2 as VST
- For the routing on this track, set all MIDI input, and output to InstaComposer 2
- Add another instrument track with any synth/instrument on it, select InstaComposer 2 as the input (either ALL if using a single instrument, or specifically one of channels 1-6 if only sending 1 channel to the instrument) and the synth/instrument as the output.
- Repeat these steps for other instruments (if you wish to route different MIDI channels to different instruments). Assign each MIDI input on each instrument to a different MIDI channel corresponding to those in InstaComposer 2 (1-6)
